School Building Lease Update
There were two ‘tours’ of the building. One was by personnel from a charter school that is looking for more space, the other was from a different, educational effort - with less of a specific plan at this time. The finance council continues to work on the budget for this current (started on July 1) fiscal year...getting the numbers to line up as we use the dedicated fund for payment of the mortgage and other reserves for our operations. Mudhens Game St. Matthew’s Men’s Club is hosting a bus trip to Miesville, MN, for Mudhens baseball game on Wednesday, July 10th. Libera Boys Choir Concert, Cathedral of St. Paul, July 26
The London-based boys choir "Libera" will be performing at the Cathedral of St. Paul on July 26th at 7:30 PM. They last performed here back in 2011. On Sat. May 25th at 9am, Greg Lothenbach & Tim Dalzell are going to be painting some doors at the church. Touching up door outside of Chapel (suffered under the Polar Vortex.) We have one volunteer to take communion to those unable to worship with us, however we need more. This “liturgical” ministry involves taking a pyx with a host from Saturday or Sunday Mass; visiting the person in their home; reading the gospel and sharing a sentence or two from the homily; praying the Lord’s Prayer together and then giving the Host to the person. Once we have a few volunteers for this ministry we will then invite people to request that visit. We invite all parish members to consider serving on the Pastoral Council. Serving on the council is a ministry to the whole parish. There are nine members who serve a 2 year term with a maximum of 6 years. We operate by consensus. Consensus decision-making is a group decision-making process in which group members develop, and agree to support, a decision in the best interest of the whole. Council members should be willing to commit their time, talent and wisdom in a consultative and collaborative manner. Members are asked to attend monthly meetings.
