Last Holiday season was a record breaker for Isaac's Blessing Bags. We hand delivered over 250 bags! I couldn't have done it without the heartfelt donations that were donated by St. Matthew's Parishioners and families. I delivered all over the Twin Cities. WE’RE ALMOST THERE! The thermometer shows that we’re 84% of the way to raising the full $109,000 cost of replacing the electric panel. That’s awesome! Many thanks to all who have contributed! Strawberry Cleaning for Minnesota State Fair, August 23 to September 3, 2023
Keep Wednesday, August 23 – Sunday, September 3 open! Our parish has again been asked to do strawberry cleaning for the Strawberries and Creme booth at the Minnesota State Fair! We begin cleaning each day at about 8:00 AM and are usually finished about noon. The amount of berries to be cleaned depends on the weather and crowd size at the fair. Many of our volunteers look forward to this project and have already signed up to let us know they will help clean berries! They enjoy being together and socializing with fellow parishioners. We are replacing our current Gather Comprehensive 2nd Edition hymnals (published in 2004) with new Gather IV hymnals. Not only does this hymnal include many of the “greatest hits” of the past 18 years, it also has a current Order of the Mass that reflects liturgical language changes instituted back in 2011. For several years, members of our parish would gather in St. Matt's Social Hall to clean strawberries for the owner of a booth at the State Fair. We would begin the day before the fair opened and our last day would be the Sunday before Labor Day. Some came every day, some just weekends and others came whenever they could.
