New Social Hall lights and Scrip profits
Social Hall lighting rebate When we contracted with Premier Lighting for the new lights in the Social Hall we were told the amount of the rebate. The process entailed St. Matt's paying the entire invoice and then waiting for a rebate check from Xcel Energy. A check for $3,150 arrived last week. The net cost was $9,856. “THANK YOU” can never be said enough to the volunteers who gave their time, energy, and skill to raise money for replacing the clerestory windows. Fund Raising Alert: Strawberries at the State Fair
Now is the time to sign up for cleaning and preparing Strawberries for the State Fair Booth. Will you help the parish 'earn' $3,000? That is about $250 per day of cleaning. There will be about 700 pounds of strawberries to clean each day; the parish receives 35 cents per pound for the cleaning. You can just show up at 8:30 any morning between Wednesday, August 23 and Sunday, September 3. But it would be nice to know about how many folks will be coming. The Oktoberfest Committee will begin meeting on Monday, July 10th at 7:00 p.m. at the Parish Center. New committee members are encouraged to come be a part of planning our annual Oktoberfest. No experience is required, just a desire to help your parish, work with a great group of volunteers and perhaps take the lead as an event chairperson! The Oktoberfest Committee will meet each Monday at 7:00 p.m. with a wrap up meeting on October 9th. Oktoberfest is St. Matthew’s largest fundraising event for the church.
