Students should come to their Parish Center classroom at 6:30 PM and later will go with their teacher to church for the 7 PM service. Fall Festival & Fix-It Fund Raiser Results
It is wonderful to finally share with you the good news that the Fall Festival raised $16,000. With the hands of volunteer, friends of the parish, and supporting businesses we are able to continue to repair and/or replace items that are growing older. The WolfGang Ensemble returned to St. Matthew's with an All-Haydn Concert on Sunday, November 11, 4:00 PM. A concert of classical chamber music was performed on Mozart era instruments. Works included: London Symphony #7, "The Clock", transcribed for flute, string quartet & fortepiano by Salomon; Trio in D for flute, cello and fortepiano; string quartet in D major and Sonata in C Minor for fortepiano. Volunteer Spotlight: Al & Kathy Schowalter
We have many volunteers at St. Matthews who faithfully help the parish, with little recognition. Al and Kathy Schowalter are an example of that type of volunteer. Each week as parishioners arrive for the Saturday or Sunday Mass, and go to light a vigil candle, they never have to search for a candle to light. Every Saturday, 52 weeks of the year, Al and Kathy come to the church to clean the used vigil holders and place in them fresh vigil candles. They do the same every Sunday morning. On October 20 and 21 the third Sunday of the month, 325 pounds of food and personal care items were collected for Neighborhood House from St. Matthew’s parish.
