Community of Saints is excited to announce that they will once again be hosting a Halloween Dance! The dance will take place in the Community of Saints' gymnasium on Friday, October 26th from 6:30-9:30pm. In addition to the school community, the dance is open to their sponsoring parish communities as well! Volunteer Spotlight: Joanne Smith
This month the Volunteer Spotlight shines on Joanne Smith. Joanne grew up in that "Other Twin City", Minneapolis. Her schooling was with the Benedictine sisters at St. Bridget's and the St. Joseph sisters at St. Anthony of Padua High School and many interesting characters at the University of MN, where she earned her degree in elementary education. Joanne became a member of St. Matthew's in 1969. Her family had grown with the adoption of two mixed race boys who were ready to be baptized. Community of Saints is excited to announce that we have signed a twenty year lease with St. Michael's Church. We know there has been some concern in the past concerning the status of Community of Saints as it resides on the campus of St. Michael's which is no longer an operating parish. Volunteer Spotlight: Corrine and Bill Brengman
This month the Volunteer Spotlight shines on Bill & Corinne Brengman. Corrinne has been a lifelong member of St. Matthew parish since her baptism in 1933. Corinne's mother attended St. Matthew's School. Corrine attended grade school at St. Matts and her first two years of high school. St. Matthew's School only had a 2-year high school program, so Corinne then transferred to St. Agnes High School, graduating in 1951. In 1956 Corinne and Bill Brengman were married at St. Matthew's Church. It was then that Bill became a member of St. Matthew's. Fall Festival – Saturday & Sunday, Sept 22-23 Saturday: Bingo will begin at 5:30 pm. until 9:00 pm. A variety of food items will be available in the Social Hall right after mass at 5 pm. Several of the booths will be open starting at 3 pm – including the Bakery booth, Jewelry, Silent Auction and Grandma’s Treasures.
