Faith Formation Classes
Students in grades 1-10 who attend public schools are welcome to join our Wednesday evening Faith Formation and Sacrament Preparation classes for the 2017-2018 school year. Class starts at 6:30 PM and ends at 7:45. Parents/guardians can register students at stmatts.org/ffregister or register in church at the start of class. Annual Parish Mass and Picnic moved to Social Hall due to weather
Due to rainy weather the picnic will be in the Social Hall with Mass at 4:20 pm in the church. Next Saturday, August 26th, is our annual Mass and Picnic at Cherokee Park. We begin with Mass at 4:20 p.m., followed by the picnic. The Men’s Club will be working the grill, serving up a variety of delicious meats. The buns will be provided by the Rosary Society. Parishioners are asked to please bring a salad, casserole and/or dessert to share with others. You will provide your own beverages. Fund Raising Alert: Strawberries at the State Fair
Now is the time to sign up for cleaning and preparing Strawberries for the State Fair Booth. Will you help the parish 'earn' $3,000? That is about $250 per day of cleaning. There will be about 700 pounds of strawberries to clean each day; the parish receives 35 cents per pound for the cleaning. You can just show up at 8:30 any morning between Wednesday, August 23 and Sunday, September 3. But it would be nice to know about how many folks will be coming. We will have our festival on Saturday and Sunday, October 7th and 8th. We have some details to work out but we’re still looking for someone to chair or for co-chairs for the Holiday Booth and Grandma’s Treasures. Confirmation classes are available for persons with special needs, or mental or physical disabilities, age 16 or older. Classes will be held Saturday, August 12 and Saturday, August 26, 9:30—11:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Richard, Richfield. Both classes are mandatory for guardians and candidates.
