Sister Anne has blessed Saint Matthew both as an elementary teacher and as a pastoral minister. The Archdiocese has sent pages of guidelines that should be followed as everyone is invited back to worship together. We will wait until an announcement by Governor Walz and then the Liturgy Committee will meet [on Zoom] to decide what we will do in order to allow folks back “into the Church.” It will certainly involve “social distancing;” it may involve the wearing of masks; there will probably be no congregational singing [singing and speaking can spread the virus very easily]; we will not use hymnals and there will be no water in the holy water fonts. Sister Anne Becker Update
Mary Leibl (volunteer coordinator) and Linda Rivera (parish secretary) each spoke with Sister Anne last week. Sister is in great spirits and enjoying the company of her follow Sisters at the School Sister’s Notre Dame Mother House in Mankato (150 of them). She is healing well, going to therapy; at the Mother House. Her doctor would like her to have another CT scan, but because of Covid-19 she cannot at this time. She is using a walker to get around, the Sisters are serving her meals, helping her to this and that, she is being waiting on hand and foot, literally! We appreciate all those who have been able to participate, though remotely, in the Sunday Masses these past weekends. We invite those who are watching the liturgies of the Triduum to participate from their homes. For Holy Thursday [7:00pm] we invite people to have a basin, a pitcher of water and a towel.
