Sacrament of First Communion, May 15-16, 2021
The Church of St Matthew celebrated First Holy Communion with 16 children and their families at Masses on May 15 and 16. Seven of the children attended weekly Faith Formation classes for the 2020-21 school year, and ten of the children attend Community of Saints Regional Catholic School. 2021 Strawberry Cleaning Notice STRAWBERRY CLEANING For several years, members of our parish would gather to clean strawberries for the owner of a booth at the State Fair. We would begin the day before the fair opened and our last day would be the Sunday before Labor Day. Some came every day, some just weekends and others came whenever they could. It was fun and profitable! Last year COVID-19 brought this experience to an end. The governor has stated that there will be a State Fair this summer!! May 2021 Men’s Club General Meeting, Wednesday May 12th, 2021, at 8pm Masks and Social Distancing Required Menu – We will have Little Caesar’s pizza depending on attendance. Fish Fry Summary Tim Nowak presented the final fish fry numbers at the April general meeting. Tim asked if it made sense to lower the club’s profit so we can pay out more to the groups that helped. The members in attendance voted to take his suggestion and lower the club’s profits to 40%. Lowering our profit didn’t hurt the club and we were able to benefit the groups that helped. The Church of St. Matthew celebrated the sacrament of Confirmation on Sunday, May 2. Thirteen students in the Faith Formation Program were confirmed, as were three Community of Saints Regional Catholic School students and one Visitation School student.
