Synod Small Groups at St Matthew's Pope Francis and Archbishop Hebda have asked the Catholic faithful to participate in a synod, which is a way for church leaders to gather input. Every weekend during the 2021-2022 school year, the Church of St Matthew has learning packets available near the front door, by the hymnals, for children ages 3 to 6. The packet, a 9x12 envelope, contains a colorful pamphlet (called Seeds or Promise) related to the Sunday Gospel, a supplemental worksheet (such as a coloring page, fill-in-the-blank or matching activity, or a maze), tips for parents or guardians on teaching the week’s lesson, and basic supplies such as crayons and a pencil.
