Baptism If you have a child you would like baptized, visit st-matts.org/baptism/, follow the instructions there, and complete the baptism registration form and submit it to the St. Matthew parish office. The baptism class at Our Lady of Guadalupe requires registration a week in advance, so call 651-224-9793 and talk to Linda Rivera Monday-Friday between 9 and 1 to register. After those steps are completed, then we schedule your family for baptism, which is held during Mass on the first weekend of the month. First Communion Practice: For children registered to receive First Communion in May at the Church of St. Matthew, please come to First Communion practice on Wednesday, May 2, at 7:00 pm in St. Matthew Church. We will do the final preparation so that children are ready for the sacrament. Registered First Communion children must attend the practice on May 2 with at least one parent or guardian. Questions? Faith Formation Classes Resume: St. Matthew Faith Formation classes for public school students resume on Wednesday, April 11, at 6:30 PM in church with the usual dismissal at 7:45 PM from the Parish Center. We also have class on April 18. Note that our final regular class for the 2017-2018 school year is on April 25. First Reconciliation Service: Students in the Wednesday evening Faith Formation program and Community of Saints students planning to make their First Communion at St. Matthew will celebrate the sacrament of Reconciliation on Saturday, February 24. On Sunday, February 18th a new Children’s Liturgy of the Word during the Sunday, 10:00 a.m. Mass begins.  This Sunday service is geared to children 3 to 6 years of age. Please bring your child(ren) to Mass and the Liturgy teachers will came and escort them to the chapel at the appropriate time.  We are excited to begin this new program for our younger children who are not yet old enough to attend Faith Formation. Confirmation Launch: All St. Matthew Confirmation candidates and their families are invited to attend the St. Matthew 10 AM Mass on Sunday, November 5. After Mass, we will host Coffee Sunday, which will be a potluck brunch with the dishes provided by Confirmation families. Everyone who comes to 10 AM Mass is invited to the potluck brunch. Between July 1st, 2015, and June 30th, 2016, the combined Saint Matthew's and Saint Michael's Youth Faith Formations served 44 students in grades 1 to 11. An additional 21 students from Community of Saints joined the program on sacrament instruction evenings and made their sacraments through Saint Matthew's and Saint Michael's parishes.
