Thank you, Saint Matthew’s families and friends, for your contributions to the 2020 Easter environment fund. Your gifts in memory or in honor of your loved ones are greatly appreciated. This Lenten Season has been an unusual one, a challenging one. We were not able to be together in our worship space in person, but we were able to be there visually in other ways via Facebook, YouTube and other means. March 17, 2020 Dear parishioners: I know you are well aware of the COVID-19 virus and its effect on all of our lives. I have had conversations with Fr. Steve and Fr. Banker, our parochial administrator. We have decided to “close our doors” for the next two weeks [at least]. We will re-look at the situation on March 31 and make decisions about Holy Week and Easter and beyond. For now: Weekend Masses will not be celebrated. Most of our church activities will either be cancelled or postponed, from now until Friday, April 3 (a little over two weeks). The COVID-19 outbreak is "fluid." Fr. Steve and parish staff will revisit the situation as it unfolds and later make an announcement regarding Holy Week and Easter. Coming up fast are the first of several "Prayer and Listening Events" that serve as a prelude to the 2021 Archdiocesan Synod. The weekend of the October 11th and 12th is a great opportunity for St. Matthew's parishioners to attend at Guardian Angels in Oakdale on Friday or at Our Lady Guadalupe on Saturday.
