The wonderful tradition of free Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings will continue this year! All meals will be curbside pick-up only. Meals will be will be available for pick up on Thanksgiving Day, November 24 at the Church of Saint Joseph parking lot, 1154 Seminole Avenue, West Saint Paul. There are two time slots for pick up: 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM or 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM. Meal delivery is available during the morning pick-up time. Synod Small Groups at St Matthew's Pope Francis and Archbishop Hebda have asked the Catholic faithful to participate in a synod, which is a way for church leaders to gather input. The Church of St Matthew is offering synod sessions on Saturday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30. During the session, attendees watch two short videos and participate in small discussion groups that are facilitated by members of the St Matthew Synod task force. Sister Anne Becker, SSND  From St. Michael MN  •  First profession: July 21, 1954 Retired from active duty; now in residence at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Mankato. Sister Anne has blessed Saint Matthew both as an elementary teacher and as a pastoral minister.  Sister Anne taught at the school in the 1970s and takes pride in defeating Tom Smith [future head of Saint Paul Police Department] in an arm-wrestling contest. Mary Leibl (volunteer coordinator) and Linda Rivera (parish secretary) each spoke with Sister Anne last week. Sister is in great spirits and enjoying the company of her follow Sisters at the School Sister’s Notre Dame Mother House in Mankato (150 of them). She is healing well, going to therapy; at the Mother House. Her doctor would like her to have another CT scan, but because of Covid-19 she cannot at this time. She is using a walker to get around, the Sisters are serving her meals, helping her to this and that, she is being waiting on hand and foot, literally!
