Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8
Strawberry Cleaning: In just 3 days (Wednesday, August 21), we will begin cleaning strawberries for the Minnesota State Fair. In past years, we have been fortunate to have volunteers ready to help each day. Cleaning begins each day at about 8:00 AM and we are usually finished about noon. The amount of berries to be cleaned depends on the weather and crowd size at the fair. Many of our volunteers look forward to this project and enjoy being together and socializing with fellow parishioners! If you have helped in previous years, you know how enjoyable it can be to clean berries while visiting with fellow volunteers. If you prefer to work alone, there is room for that, too. Everyone is invited to take part in this fundraising project. Reserve at least one day on your calendar and see if you too might find the experience enjoyable. The Social Hall will be open by 7:30 AM each day. Come to our own Great St. Matthew Get-Together!
Thank You: To all who helped to make the Mass in the Park an enjoyable experience for the many parishioners and friends who attended. To Cristina, Phil, and Fr. Kommers who planned the Mass and picnic. To Tim, Ron, Tom and Mark who loaded trucks with all that were needed from the church to the park and back again to the church. To Choir Members who not only moved the sound equipment and everything needed for the music at Mass, but also provided beautiful singing to celebrate the Mass. To the sacristans, Ginny, Kathy and Mary who prepared the area and the table/altar. To the Men’s Club who grilled the meat for the picnic and to all who brought food to share. We heard many positive comments, not only from parishioners but also from friends of parishioners who attended. One person even said, “I’ve never come to the Mass in the Park before, but I will be back next year!
We again proved that we are blest with dedicated volunteers!!
WE ARE A VOLUNTEER PARISH!
