Recent Finance Questions (and Answers)
“Are we solvent?”
The answer is yes, we are solvent. Your regular contributions play a major role in assuring we continue to be solvent. They make our regular operations possible. Thank you for your support!
“How’s the charter school doing?”
Another major budget role is played by our school building’s tenant, Quantum STEAM Academy. QSA’s regular monthly rent payments go towards paying off the school’s elevator, our boilers, and other building maintenance.
“Where are we with the parking lot renewal project?”
We’ve raised over $70,000 in cash and pledges so far. That’s more than half of what we need, and we continue to receive donations. For example, some parishioners earmark their contributions for Capital Needs each month through the special envelopes we use. Others set up their Electronic Funds Transfers (EFTs) to include Capital Needs as well as operational support. For more information about EFTs, please call me.
Note: the original estimate to renew our lot came in at about $90,000. The latest bid was for $130,000. That’s because we expanded the scope of the project to include the area occupied by the play structure on the north end of the parking lot. We anticipate that paving that area will improve drainage. We don’t want water getting into the school building.
November Fundraiser
Thank you for your support of our 5th Annual Giving Thanks Fundraiser! To date, we’ve raised $9,960. You may still donate if you wish, though it’s too late to be entered in the drawing. All funds raised are designated for replacement of our skylights next year.
One of my tasks each November is to call each day’s winner. I enjoy the opportunity to congratulate the winners, thank them for their support, and have a little chat. Winners’ names are published in the insert each week.
Have a great week!
