It’s a Lot
Meaning #1: our newest Capital Needs effort is focused on our parking lot, long overdue for replacement. As Fr. Thomas said last weekend, our parking lot’s many trip hazards pose a risk. Our insurance company (Catholic Mutual) insists we deal with it.
Meaning #2: we seek to raise a lot of money: around $100K depending on final scope of work. As we learn more about the project details from our potential contractors, we’ll have a more precise number.
Here’s what I ask: please contribute what you can. Whether that’s a dollar, $1,000, or some other amount—thank you. We know that many people are on limited incomes. I’m reminded of that classic Gospel story about “the widow’s mite”. As Jesus said, the poor widow gave more than the rich guy—not in quantity, but in proportion.
I’m confident that by working together, we’ll reach our goal within a year. For contribution methods, see this week’s insert.
This just in: A generous donor has offered to match parking lot donations up to $10,000! That is, the next $10,000 in donations will be effectively doubled. That’s a lot!
Power Off June 18-21 – Office Closed
All electric power to our three main buildings (Parish Center, church and school) will be cut off starting at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18. We expect power to be restored by the end of Friday, June 21.
Accordingly, our staff will be working remotely during those four days. I expect to stop by each day, however, to check on things. See the insert for additional details.
Note: I will be on vacation the week of June 24-28. For assistance during that week, please email or call Angela in the office.
Thank you for your support, and have a great week!
