PACE & PRISM (P&P)
We’re well into July—or as I sometimes think of it, P&P season. This month, I’m documenting all sorts of things for Catholic Mutual (CM), our insurance company. By doing so, we knock thousands of dollars off our insurance costs each year.
PACE refers to personnel items. PRISM refers to facilities. I value the whole process, as CM guidelines are basically good practices we should always be doing. The rebate is like very nice frosting on the operational cake.
Speaking of Facilities
• A major component of our August 1 report to CM is a lengthy Capital Repair spreadsheet. That spreadsheet details our major projects, in all of our five buildings. It’s very useful for planning purposes.
• By the time you read this, we will have sent our final check to Apadana Technologies, the company that installed our new electric panel a few weeks ago. Many thanks to all who contributed to this effort, from last year into early this year. You made panel replacement possible!
• We continue to analyze possible parking lot project contractors. Many thanks to all who’ve already contributed or pledged funds to renew the lot. You are making this new project possible!
• Church overhead fans. They are still on our to-do list, as they’re noisy and wearing out.
Family Camp – July 15-19
I’ll be out of the office this week, attending Danebod Family Camp in Tyler, Minnesota. I’ve enjoyed this camp for many years, as it features many of my favorite things: friends, food, conversation, singing, dancing, games and crafts.
“Wait a minute, Phil,” you might say. “Weren’t you just there?”
Well, yes. I was. I went to the June session last month; now I’m going to the July session. Much of each month’s program is similar, though the people are different. The July campers have asked for my help, and I’m happy to oblige. Danebod has given me much over the years, including skills I’ve applied in school settings—and now, in a parish setting. Feel free to ask me for details.
Thank you for your support, and have a great week!
