Congratulations and Thanks!
Congratulations to ourselves–and thank you to everyone who contributed to our “E-Box” Fundraiser. We’ve reached our $109,000 goal!
To review the history: over a year ago, we identified a critical need to replace our main electric panel. It’s in the boiler room of the church, downstairs from the Social Hall. That panel serves all three buildings on our campus.
After consulting a couple of electric contractors, we chose Apadana to replace the panel. They had the low bid, at just under $109,000.
You might recall that at the beginning of Lent in 2023, we asked for contributions locally and online. With the title of “The Power of Compassion”, John D. led an effort to create a video that introduced website visitors to St. Matt’s and our ministries. Those ministries reflect our parish’s emphasis on compassion, i.e., the Corporal Works of Mercy.
Many supporters quickly donated to the E-Box, with over $30,000 contributed by the end of Lent last year. We continued to receive donations at a steady pace all last year and into 2024, through EFTs (Electronic Funds Transfers), the monthly Capital Needs envelope, and online through DonorBox and PayPal.
There were several big boosts from major (anonymous) donors, along with $20,000 from St. Matt’s Men’s Club. Last month, we hit our $109,000 goal. Amazing! Wonderful!
It now looks like the electric panel replacement work will occur this June, during weeks when Quantum STEAM Academy is not in session (summer school).
We had hoped to replace it sooner, but—supply chain issues.
By fortunate coincidence, Apadana is also the company we’re working with to install solar panels on our school building and Parish Center building. That work is tentatively scheduled for the fall.
Have a great week!
