How to Get Your Child Baptized at St. Matthew: Baptism Preparation Meetings
Interested in having your child baptized at St. Matt’s? If so, know that we offer the required Baptism Preparation meeting on a regular basis —usually the third week of every month.
Preparation meetings are held in the church. They are a wonderful opportunity to reflect on God’s unimaginable love which we experience through the grace of baptism.
The next meetings are on:
- Tuesday, October 15 at 7:00 p.m.
- Saturday, October 19 at 10:30 a.m.
Preparation meetings are required for parents and guardians with children aged six or younger. If you have had a child baptized at St. Matt’s in the last five years, you may waive this requirement — but you’re invited to attend a meeting if you wish.
Registration is required, at least one week in advance. To register — or for more information —please contact Cristina Czaia or call the Parish Office (651-224-9793).

Community Band
Calling all St. Matt’s instrumentalists: you’re invited to our next St. Matt’s Community Band session on Friday, October 4 at 6:30 PM in the Social Hall.
All levels and instruments are welcome, from beginning musicians on up.
All ages are welcome. Children 12 or younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Those aged 13-17 may come on their own. However, they must bring a signed permission slip from a parent or guardian.
Community Band goals: (a) Have fun making music together; (b) Explore instrumental music possibilities for worship and other events; and (c) Play for events here at St. Matt’s.
For more information, please email me or call the office.
Blessing of the Animals
Friday, October 4, is the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals. Father Thomas will bless animals after the 4:15 PM Mass on Saturday, October 5.
It will take place outside in the square around the Saint Matthew status. Bring your pets for this special blessing!
Prayer Requests
Due to a long list of names on our prayer list, the names are divided into groups and rotated weekly for Prayers of the Faithful. Email Angela () or call the parish office (651-224-9793) with changes to keep our list up to date.
When requesting to add a loved one’s name to our bulletin and Prayers of the Faithful, we kindly ask you obtain the individual’s permission. Thank you!
Our parish has several ways in which we can pray for others:
- We include names of those who need our prayers in our bulletin.
- We include names of those who need our prayers in the Prayers of the Faithful during Mass.
- You can include names in the Book of Intentions, found in the back of the church.
