Fr. Adrian is on vacation
Fr. Adrian will be on vacation through the first week of February 2024. We thank Fr. Thomas Kommers and Fr. Matthew Linn who will be substituting for Fr. Adrian. We wish Fr. Adrian a restful and relaxing vacation!
Coffee Sunday
Coffee Sunday is January 14 after the 10:15 AM Mass. This month’s Coffee Sunday is hosted by the Rosary Society. Come down to the Social Hall after Mass and visit with your fellow parishioners. We hope to see you there!
Grief Support Group
The next Grief Support Group meeting is on Thursday, January 18 at 6:00 PM in the Parish Center. Email Mary Leibl () with any questions.
St. Matthew Youth Group
The next Youth Group meeting will be on Sunday January 21, 2024, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Please join us for lunch, games and crafts! All youth welcome. Younger children (under 10) should be accompanied by an adult. Older children can attend on their own.
Neighborhood House Collection
Next weekend is the monthly Neighborhood House collection. There will be a basket by the main entrance for you to place your non-perishable or monetary donation.
During the month of December 2023, St. Matthew donated 126 pounds of food. On behalf of Neighborhood House and the people it serves, thank you for your generosity!
Rebuilding Catholic Community
The Center for Catholic Social Thought is presenting a Spring 2024 Speaker Series at the Church of the Assumption titled Rebuilding Catholic Community.

- Thursday, February 22, 7:00 PM: “Dorothy Day and Catholic Community” with Renée Darline Roden and James Murphy, Chicago Catholic Workers.
- Thursday, February 29, 7:00 PM: “Community and Parish Life” with Bishop Joseph William.
- Thursday, March 7, 7:00 PM: “How To Build Thick Community” with Leah Libresco, author of Building the Benedict Option.

The Gift of Empathy Book Discussion Groups
Lumen Christi Catholic Community invites you to join a three-part book group discussions on “The Gift of Empathy.”
The dates are January 18, 25 and February 1 from 8:30 – 10:00 am (after morning Mass) or 6:30 – 8:00 pm.
“The Gift of Empathy” is an easy read and a powerful yet practical message on how to demonstrate empathy with others at home, at work, and in all aspects of your life.
You can register or get more information by calling the church office at 651-698-5581 or register at the church website at www.lumenchristicc.org. The book can be purchased and picked up at the church office. The cost of the book for the study is $7.
ICONS in Transformation
Augustana Lutheran Church is hosting ICONS in Transformation, an exhibition of contemporary art by artist, Ludmila Pawlowska from January 28 through March 31, 2024.

Casa Guadalupana on KARE11
Casa Guadalupana, a shelter housed in the former rectory of the Church of St. Matthew, received a grant from 2023 TENGA Foundation in the amount of $5,000.00!
KARE 11 recently visited Casa Guadalupana and interviewed Dave Haley, the director. The interview aired on KARE 11 during the 6:00 PM news last week.
