Congratulations to the 26 students from the Church of Saint Matthew who received the sacrament of Confirmation at the Cathedral of Saint Paul on Sunday, April 14. Archbishop Bernard Hebda presided at the Mass. The group included 17 students who are in the Wednesday evening Faith Formation program at Saint Matthew and 9 students who attend Community of Saints Regional Catholic School. Thank you to the candidates’ Confirmation sponsors, to Confirmation teacher Dave Sonday for working with and preparing the students, to director Janelle Rohr for running the Faith Formation program and working with families, to the many other catechists and helpers in the program, to the COS teachers and administrators, and to Father Steve Adrian and Father Thomas Kommers.
Registration for Confirmation for the 2024-2025 school year will start in August from the Faith and Learning page of the Saint Matthew website. The sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated with students who are already baptized and are in grades 8 and above.
