St. John's Gospel is divided into two parts. The first part is called the Book of Signs. And the second part, the second half is called the Book of Glory. The word signs mean miracles. And in that first half of the book, there are six stories of miracles that are told. There's Jesus changing the water into wine at Canaan Galilee. And Jesus curing the Centurion son who was ill. Mary was the one who anointed Jesus with precious ointment and then dried his feet with her hair. Her brother was Lazarus, who was ill. Father Steve Adrian 3/22/2020 One of my favorite authors is Flannery O'Connor, and she writes short stories and she's written a few novels. She comes from the South, from Georgia. And in one of her short stories, she talks about the Gospel in Mark, which is the parallel to the one that the church puts before us today, where Jesus comes into a town and there is a man who cannot see, and they ask Jesus to help this man see, to give him sight.
